The unicorn is a mythical creature often depicted as a horse or doe-like animal with a single glittering horn.
Renowned for its beauty, it is typically portrayed as being white but can be found in multiple different coat colors and patterns. Some, called alicorns, may even possess the wings of a pegasus! The unicorn's horn is believed to possess the ability to heal wounds, purify water, and neutralize poisons. To find, let alone interact with, a real unicorn is often thought to signify a pure heart. Legends of unicorns are found in various cultures, from ancient Greek and Roman texts to medieval folklore, and they were often associated with virtue and rarity. Many tapestries and works of art depict unicorns being hunted or held captive, as they have always been deeply sought after by those unworthy. |

The Last Unicorn, a book by Peter S. Beagle, is one of (in my opinion) greatest novels written about unicorns.
Within its pages is told the story of the world's seemingly last remaining unicorn and her desperate search for answers and the rest of her kin. Along the way she fins herself meeting new companions and challenges! I wont ruin the story by revealing much more than that, but its filled with enough whimsy and drama that I feel anyone would enjoy a trot through its pages. It's fairly short, for a novel, and worth the read if youre a fan of fantasy settings or unicorns!!
