Indiana Pawpaw Bread

I'll admit that I've only tried it once, but if I ever find any pawpaws again I'm going to be making this!

1 entire loaf of pawpaw bread!
  • 1 cup sugar

  • 2 eggs

  • 1⁄2 cup butter (room temperature)

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

  • 1⁄2 cup sour cream

  • 1 1⁄2 cups flour

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1⁄2 teaspoon salt

  • 3⁄4 cup pawpaw (ripe and mashed)

  • 1⁄4 cup banana (ripe and mashed)

  • 1⁄2 cup walnuts (chopped)




Step 1
Grease a large loaf pan and preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Step 2
Cream butter,sugar,eggs and vanilla with electric mixer.

Step 3
Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture.

Step 4
Stir in pawpapw puree, mashed bananas and walnuts. Mix until just blended. Do not over mix.

Step 5
Pour batter in greased loaf pan.

Step 6
Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until knife comes out clean.
